As a relationship expert
and therapist, I have been asked to answer a lot
of questions about relationships over the years. Most
of the questions and concerns that are being expressed
by my viewers and web site visitors are on topics
that I think have universal interest. That's
why I've decided to share some of these questions
and my answers with you. Here's a forum in
which you can help each other and be heard. If
you have any experiences that you would like to
share or comments to add to what has been written,
I will post them here. Also, if you have any
questions or concerns that you would like addressed,
please email
me and I will
answer you on site. (Disclaimer

"ENERGY VAMPIRES AND EMPATHS!"
|
|
|
 |

Hi Sheri,
I loved
your article
on energy vampires, and the column
by Judith Olroff
spoke to me, but not for the obvious reason.
I don't see myself as an
Empath, but I'm an in a relationship with
someone who fits. Judith gives an
example that really struck me - you're
nervous about a job interview, but
the minute you meet your prospective boss
you relax. He's so calm and
welcoming, you calm down too.
I want
to be that person, Sheri. Not just because
of the woman I love, but
because of the positive energy that I
could spread to others around me. But
I see in the reactions of people that
I'm just not that way. And I wonder:
How does a person do that? Where did they
learn it? Did I 'miss school'
that day? How can I be more like that?
Thanks
for anything you can help with.
Titus

Dear Titus,
Thanks
for your letter. I forwarded it to Dr.
Judith Orloff and this is her response.
All
the best,
Sheri
Response
From Dr. Judith Orloff:
Dear
Titus,
This
is such a lovely question. The key is
to relaxed with yourself and come from
the heart. When you exude a sense of heart
other people will feel comfortable. Be
compassionate with other people. Have
empathy for their anxieties. This makes
them feel at ease. I suggest you practice
the 3 minute mini meditation in "Positive
Energy." This will help you develop
positive energy in yourself so others
can feel it.
All the best ,
Judith
