Hi Sheri,

I loved your article on energy vampires, and the column by Judith Olroff
spoke to me, but not for the obvious reason. I don't see myself as an
Empath, but I'm an in a relationship with someone who fits. Judith gives an
example that really struck me - you're nervous about a job interview, but
the minute you meet your prospective boss you relax. He's so calm and
welcoming, you calm down too.

I want to be that person, Sheri. Not just because of the woman I love, but
because of the positive energy that I could spread to others around me. But
I see in the reactions of people that I'm just not that way. And I wonder:
How does a person do that? Where did they learn it? Did I 'miss school'
that day? How can I be more like that?

Thanks for anything you can help with.

Dear Titus,

Thanks for your letter. I forwarded it to Dr. Judith Orloff and this is her response.

All the best,

Response From Dr. Judith Orloff:

Dear Titus,

This is such a lovely question. The key is to relaxed with yourself and come from the heart. When you exude a sense of heart other people will feel comfortable. Be compassionate with other people. Have empathy for their anxieties. This makes them feel at ease. I suggest you practice the 3 minute mini meditation in "Positive Energy." This will help you develop positive energy in yourself so others can feel it.

All the best ,
